VOCAL ASSESSMENT
A vocal assessment helps us get a clear image of your voice quality.
It enables us to have numbers and objective measures in order to come out with a clear clinical diagnosis.
It also allows us to compare the voice quality before and after therapy/singing sessions or before and after a surgery that might have an impact on your voice.
The assessment includes:
– A case history including the history of the voice disorder in case of therapy and its impact on your daily life.
– Auditory-perceptual analysis
– Acoustic measures are quantitative metrics concerning your voice pitch (fundamental frequency F0), vocal loudness (sound pressure level), vocal range, disturbance and overall vocal quality. You will be required to perform different tasks such as sustaining vowels, reading, speaking and singing. The recordings will then be analyzed with a specific software.
– An evaluation of your communication in general, your workplace setting, your goals and aspirations.
Once the assessment is complete, you will receive a detailed clinical diagnosis and a tailor-made treatment/coaching plan.
